R880 was charged in fees
I have a premium cheque account with FNB and was not aware that I have overdrawn on my account which resulted in there being R1500 short to process my debit orders. My account then went into access and I received a notification saying I need to correct this. Immediately after the sms I went to check the amount I need to transfer and then I noticed a charge of R440 for items not paid, which is excessive for a shortfall of R1500. However, I then arranged to have money transferred the Saturday and the money got into the account on Monday. I then checked on Monday as R2000 was paid to the account that another charge of R440 was charged to the account, which means that FNB charged R880 in fees on an excess amount of R1500. That is more than half the excess amount which I have to say is ridiculous! I understand that you need to make sure that there is enough money to honor your debit order but I think in today's time with everyone paying with cards we don't really check constantly our balances. A charge of R440 I would understand but a combined charge of R880 for an excess amount of R1500 is ******* and is really making me reconsider being a customer of FNB.
