R87 for bank statements is a ripoff!

I needed a recent bank statement of the last three months and requested a printed copy from the bank, since many institutions don't accept the electronically sent statements as legal. <br> Today I see that I paid R87 for said statement. <br> - why wasn't I told that I had to pay for the past three month's statement to be printed? I was under the impression that it's free?<br> - Why was the costs not disclosed with me? R87 is a ripoff, especially for something which should be part of the monthly fees. I don't receive statements via the post, supposedly to save the environment, but I don't recall paying less for my bank fees since I'm receiving the bank statement via email instead of the post.
