Premier Bundle

I received calls on an ongoing basis from FNB regarding upgrading my Gold Cheque and Credit Cards to the Premier options. I always stated that the fees did not justify the products. Last month I took the time to listen to the sales pitch. The consultant was adamant and promised that I would earn ACTUAL eBucks for each category I qualified for… I was reluctant. The consultant even offered to put me through to the eBucks department to verify what he had said. I spoke to a consultant in the eBucks department who verified everything I was told. I then went back to the sales department where I spoke to another consultant. I once again clarified that I would receive ACTUAL eBucks for each category/criteria I met and I was once again assured that this would happen. I then went ahead with the upgrade. Today, I logged onto my FNB account and noticed that I was on Status 3 with 13000 eBucks. I called into the eBucks call centre to query when these eBucks would be allocated to my eBucks account. I was told that they are NOT ACTUAL eBucks but only points. I would only receive a percentage of the points back as eBucks.

My first issue– Why am I being ********** and given incorrect information by numerous consultants of FNB? Is it a training issue? Is FNB doing this knowingly and hoping that their clients don’t pick it up? And if they do pick it up, they just wont bother? I have been a loyal FNB client for over 30 years, I find this type of marketing method “Cheap” to say the least. I am appalled to have received this type of service from a brand I have trusted with my finances.

The other issue - I called in to the Premier call center to downgrade and revert to my Gold Card options. I was told that I would need to pay for the replacement cards!!! Why??? When it was various sales consultants error… it was FNB’s error not mine. After a long debate and even longer hold time, it was established that I could go back to using my old Gold card (which I hope I haven’t thrown out as yet). The consultant and apparent manager I spoke to today were both not phased by my complaint. I was clearly not the first person with this problem. There was no mention of them agreeing to listen to the sales call from last month. There was no assurance that they would deal with what had happened. They merely want to sweep this incident under the carpet and proceed.

To FNB, I am truly disappointed, not about not receiving the eBucks, but disappointed in you as a BRAND. You truly have gone passed taking care of your clients. It’s now all about the sale and not about quality. It seems like it is time to look for another banker. One with clear marketing, no tricks, no lies and one that values their clients.
