Prejudice judgement by FNB Life Cover

After moving all of my accounts (Personal, various business accounts and savings)to FNB on recommendation, I took advantage of many of the products that were marketed to me by FNB. I am a young professional who is levelling up, growing in his life and starting to look at life cover. I started the process of applying for FNB Life cover. During the application, I was asked a series of questions to assess my illegibility, which is understandable as FNB as a business would need to weigh up their risks. I of course answered all of the questions with full honesty so that in the event that I do pass away, my loved ones don't sit with issues in claiming the life cover. I was asked the question, do or have I ever used a variety of drugs/ narcotics, of which I answered: "yes - to one in particular - three to four years ago and that I no longer use it." At that point, the "underwriter" informed me that due to my answer I do not qualify for life cover. Just like that, no further questions. I found this completely prejudiced and unfair to me as an individual who has grown up, pulled my life together ( not that it was never falling apart) and who is now seeking to cover his loved ones. I am perplexed at the fact that FNB has the right to make a judgement on my stability based on an action that I admitted to doing in the past, an action that I was not incarcerated for, hospitalised for nor attended rehabilitation for. In other words, if you have ever had a bumpy start to life or simply just explored life to its fullest as a teen, forget about applying for FNB for Life Cover, they will hold you to your past and will judge you as irredeemable.
