POPI act violation

I dont understand why FNB would call me for a so called FICA update and yet violate the POPI act regulations? I just received a call from a woman claiming to have called from FNB and needs to do a FICA check. And she is requesting of me to give my personal information over the phone. Such as my ID number, address etc. I questioned her on this and said she should read it to me and I will confirm if it is correct or not because I DO NOT feel comfortable giving my sensitive information over the phone to random strangers. She was obviously not happy with my response and said I will have to urgently go into the branch or else my account will be closed? First of all, I do not appreciate being given ultimatums and "or else" situations. Then this woman had the nerve to get annoyed at me for not being so eager to comply and in an irritable tone told me ITS FINE and dropped the call? If you wanna close my account then by all means go ahead. There is many other banks available at my disposal. If this is the way you do business then you are doing it wrong! I will not be bul**** into handing over my ID number and address etc, not in this country you know so well to be the ***** capital on earth. So by all means close my account. I choose to not be a victim of vishing, phishing or smishing.
