**** poor service - EFT reversal
I recently EFT’d almost R2,000 to a service provider, only to discover afterwards that their FNB account had already been closed due to high fees. When I contacted FNB, I was told that a reversal would cost R340 with no guarantees. Unsurprisingly, the reversal failed because FNB “could not contact the account holder” — which is obvious, considering the account was already closed.
This entire experience has highlighted just how ineffective and unhelpful FNB’s processes are. The lack of accountability, the inability to provide meaningful assistance, and the dismissive attitude around a customer losing money is extremely disappointing.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend FNB for any form of personal finance or banking. The service has been unreliable, unresponsive, and far below what one should reasonably expect from a major financial institution.
Consumers deserve better than this level of incompetence.
Also FNB have re-allocated a closed bank account to someone else & have provided no evidence of any effort to contacting the new account holder.
Do not do any level of buysiness with these idiots!
