POOR SERVICE DELIVERY

Hi

I would just like to comment on the POOR service that I received from the FNB customer service department as well as the collections department. I am a platinum credit card holder with FNB and I contacted the collections department in an effort to rectify my account as there had been a problem with the amounts due. During my conversation with the consultant I was advised to restructure my account and to move a portion of my balance to the budget facility as this would lower my monthly instalment.

I was not advised that I would have to pay the budget amount on my own as she did not advise me that there would be two separate amounts due at the end of the month. When I enquired regarding my credit limits and access to the available funds I was told that there would be no changes that would affect my credit limit or my access to the funds on my credit card, this was not so as from the time these changes had been made to my account I have been contacted almost every month from the collections department requesting more money to be paid into my account as it is now in an over drawn status.

My limit is being automatically decreased on a monthly basis without my knowledge or consent and I do not have access to any funds from my credit card. I have contacted both the customer service as well as the collections departments on numerous occasions to reverse the changes to my account which seems to be an impossible task for the relevant departments to execute, as I am sent back and forth between these departments with no decisive action being taken. I was better off before I was misinformed in making these changes that were made to my account.

Being a platinum card holder I would expect better service from a bank whose slogan is ’’HOW CAN WE HELP YOU”
