Poor eWallet services and support

On the 2nd of November 2016, I sent money via eWallet to Spar in order to withdraw it.

Something went wrong during the process of claiming the money at Spar and I was unable to draw the money. Spar explained that the money is not with them anymore, yet the money also did not return back to my account or my eWallet account. Obviously this means that my money got trapped somewhere inbetween and needs to be recovered from wherever it is...

I raised the matter with Spar, who passed the buck to FNB. I went to see FNB and they put me on the line with the eWallet call centre. After much explanation and being sent in circles over and over, finally someone understood what went wrong and logged a request with FNB eWallet to correct the error and refund my money. FNB came back to me saying that I had already claimed the money and have closed the request for correction. I had to go back to the bank again to re-open my request for correction and to prove to my own bank that I still did not receive the money. I have since then gone back to FNB several times and also provided them with the original Spar slip as proof that I did not receive the money, but I have had absolutely NO help. Everytime I phone the call centre to follow up, they never have an answer on the progress of my refund and always tell me that I will be contacted the very same day. This never happens. I never get phoned and have to follow up with them myself again and again and again!

It is now the 20th of July 2017 and I have still not been assisted by FNB eWallet to correct this error. It is 7 months and 18 days later - 7 months is ample time to resolve an error. I is unacceptable and highly unprofessional that I have not been assisted yet!

I love FNB and will bank nowhere else because I always get the most excellent services from them, but I am very disappointed to say that the eWallet services are not as professional as the other FNB divisions.

I have stopped using eWallet services and rather send money via ABSA because of the poor support of FNB eWallet!

I would appreciate some help before my request becomes one year old!

Kind regards

Odette
