Poor customer experience
On 23rd Jan 2023 I called FNB Insure for help to recharge my car battery which had gone flat. The FNB insurance consultant sent the First Help driver by name of Patrick (vehicle registration number: KC77PT GP). The tax invoice is ***.
The driver arrived with a sub-standard charger (low voltage batter)and ultimately failed to charge and start my engine. I asked Patrick to bring a bigger voltage battery and he refused and when I explained this to the FNB consultant on the phone I was told to that they cannot help me any further.
I then had to request for a mobile mechanic who brought the correct voltage battery and this only took 3 seconds for the battery to start charge and the car to start. I paid the mobile mechanic company R1200 to have my car jump started.
I am therefore laying a complaint as I should have never had to call the mobile mechanic. The incompetence of the First Help company is worse that it cost me the R1200 which I did not have and should have not paid had they brought the correct equipment.
I am asking for refund of my R1200 from FNB Insure as they are the facilitator in this mistreatment in that they failed to help me as per our contract and I had to instead use a third party to fulfil their contractual obligation.
