Pointless 'Premium client' status - still the same poor service

Once again FNB has dropped the ball. I opened 2 myfirsavings accouts for my sons as FNB advertised these accounts making it sound so easy & convenient to do. I following the instructions online & opened the accounts, or so I thought.... I got confirmation that they were opened & when I logged onto my online banking the 2 accounts were linked to my account. I immediately tried to transfer R100 into each of the accouts however got error messages. I thought maybe they needed a day or so to activate so kept trying every day for a week. Eventually I contacted my "Team of bankers" as I have a premium client. After telling me things like 'restart the app' which obviously wasn't the issue they eventually said I needed to send them a copy of my ID & address for FICA purposes! I mean I have been a client of theirs for 20 years & now suddenly they need a copy of my ID as if they don't already have this on file... No where on the site did it say I needed to send this to them & no one had contacted me to tell me this either!

Nevertheless I emailed the documents through to the email address provided. A few days passed & the accounts still weren't working so I contacted FNB again. This time all 'my team of bankers' could tell me is that there is a still a FICA hold on the accounts so I must phone the FICA department! They couldn't tell me what the issue is or even offer for the department to phone me (again what's the point of being a premium customer?!) And again no one contacted me to tell me there was an issue - it's only because I keep contacting them.

So tired of the continued pure lack of service from FNB. Ever since they did away with private bankers - so there was at least someone I could have a relationship with & phone if there was an issue, you are now just a number just like any other client always speaking to a different person who never seem to know what is going on.... Might as well move back to Investec!

This is still not resolved!! Despite calls & emails from FNB & me sending them a copy of my ID & proof of residence for the THIRD time even though I’ve been a customer of theirs for 20 years they still haven’t managed to activate 2 little savings accounts for my sons. If this is the service & process for opening a child’s savings account I would hate to know the process to open any other account. Pathetic service!!!!

So the 'feedback' I was given was an email at 4:55pm on a Friday telling me that they saw I wrote another complaint & that if I want to get it sorted quicker I should visit a branch with my documents!!! So please don't believe the lies that we get told about being able to do your banking at home, in FNB's case it seems that they are not with the times & in fact if you need to get anything done you should rather get in your car & go stand in a queue at a branch! As a premium client I have supposed to have a whole 'team of bankers' able to assist me but now I should rather just go queue in a branch is their attitude in response to helping me! I can't believe that after 10 days they still haven't been able to do the 'paperwork' on their end to open a stupid child's savings account! Imagine the process & wait if someone wanted a loan or credit card!!!! I will be spending my weekend looking for another bank!
