PERSONAL LOAN SETTLEMENT

I have always banked with FNB and when I wanted a home loan 7 years ago they couldn't even assist and Standard bank that I have never banked with gave me 100 %, I took out a loan over 5years ago and have paid it without fail or missing a month for over 6 years, I today phoned to ask for a settlement amount as I am going through some difficulties and I need to settle the loan as I came in to some funds, I was told WE DO NOT NEGOTIATE ON SETTLEMENTS", what happens when I am unable to pay you next month?
