Personal Loan Payment
I have a Home loan and a Personal Loan with FNB, both my loans are up to date and not in arrears. I have never missed a payment on my Personal loan. So I called FNB loans and explained to them that I am struggling a bit at the moment due to everything being so expensive - all I need is for my loan installment to be reduces a little bit, then it can go back to normal installment after few months.
The lady advice me to send an email to Personal Loans department and explain my situation, I did that. But Personal loans forwarded my email to Home Loans. Then Home Loans rep**** to me and said they are unable to assist - which I understand because they gave me a payment break in 2020 during Covid.
I called FNB Personal Loans again today and spoke to Sammy, he told me that FNB does not have an option of reducing loan instalment unless I deposit a huge amount in my loan account - that will then reduce my installment. Where will I get a huge amount if I'm struggling to meet up now? He also suggested debt review - this is something I am not willing to go through. My debts are up to date and not in arrears.
My questing to FNB is why are not not willing to assist us loyal paying customers when we are asking for help? On Tuesday the 31st May - Kaya FM interviewed a lady from FNB and the lady said - it is very much advisable to communicated with your creditors if you are struggling and ask for a reduced instalment, instead of skipping payments. I'm doing that and and I need your help for few months only but you are refusing. Do you only do payment arrangement for people who are in arrears?
