Personal loan debit order unpaid

I took out a personal loan last year (around Nov I believe). During the procedure, I was informed that the first debit order was to take place on 1 January 2017. I ensured there was enough money in my cheque account for the deduction to go off. 1 Jan 2017 came and went and no deductions were made. I had a look at my statement of the loan account and saw that I was still charged interest, but no money was deducted from my cheque account to pay off the personal loan. I then just manually paid the amount due into my loan account.

At the end of January, when I did all my payments, I then also manually paid the amount due from my cheque account into my loan account on 30 Jan 2017 (due to what happened the previous month). Yesterday (7 Feb 2017) I received an SMS stating that the debit order was unpaid on 7 Feb 2017 and that my bank account has already been charged with penalty fees. I went and looked on my account but did not see any fees.

Can you please assist me with this. You will be able to see on my back account that I did in fact pay my account in time. I understand that the debit order went through without me having enough money in my account to pay it. I however paid it manually based on what occured in the previous month and that I was informed the debit order would go off on 1Jan and it never did. Can you please cancel the penalty fees- seeing as I did pay on time and that (I believe) there was some form of miscommunication, leading me to manually paying the amount due (based on what had happened in the previous month).

I am also worried about receiving a bad reputation or credit record for this "unpaid" debit order that went through, even though I did in fact pay it.

I would appreciate it if you could correspond with me via e-mail ********** I work in a lab and there is a possibility for me to miss calls when I am busy in the labs.

Kind regards
