****** PAYSHAP PAYMENT
This is pathetic service. I made a payshap payment of over R1000 on the 22nd of August. After numerous calls of being told 2-3 working days or 5 working days.
After speaking to Nomthandazo, Winston (who cares less than zero about customer service), Philile and about 10 to 15 other consultants.
I was then asked to procure bank statements of the recipient's account. Imagine. I was instructed to ask a stranger for their bank statements as I had to prove that I was not lying and that the money had in fact, not been received. Thankfully, I had sent the money from my FNB account to my ABSA account. So I was able to prove I'm not a ***** or a **** by issuing my ABSA bank statements. Last week, while waiting for the process of escalation to take place, I called back (because FNB doesn't understand that common courtesy is to update a client). Upon calling I was informed that the matter has the status 'resolved' and that the money was paid into my bank account. Once more, I had to provide my ABSA statements. To prove that nothing was paid.
Again, I was told to hold on 2-3 days. So I've done that. Upon calling today, I was told we will try to find out who has put that status on the complaint.
So... FNB has: 1) Misplaced my funds. 2) Left me without those funds for well over a month. 3) Asked me to provide the bank statements of an opposition bank before I could be helped. Essentially, this means they would have asked me to provide someone else's statements to prove I am not lying. 4) **** to me about the turn around time to resolve the issue. 5) **** to me and the FNB system by placing a note that the matter has been resolved without even discussing it with me. 6) failed to communicate within departments in their institution as nobody seems to know what is going on. 7) has made me incur costs of about R500 in purchasing minutes to speak to a consultant.
Thank the lord for the fact that I have not yet left ABSA completely. I will be running as very far as I possibly can from FNB upon ACTUAL resolution of this problem.
Please be warned. Should you make a large payment, for instance, to your home loan account, from your FNB banking app and the money goes missing, you will be liable to sort out that payment from alternate funds as FNB thinks it is more than okay to leave you without your money for over a month. They will not find it, nor will they reverse it. They will simply say we understand your frustration and delay you while sending you from pillar to post. They only tell you 2-3 working days to buy themselves some time and get you out of their hair until the following week.
I should never have opened an FNB account. I banked with ABSA since I was 13. I've had no issues with them for 20 years.
My advice is simple. Stick with any other bank. They actually care about 'How they can help you...'
My problem has still not been resolved. I would now like to go legal with the matter. What are the steps in doing so?
