PAYPAL?? PAY ENEMY!!
FNB is really beginning to miss the plot with my PayPal withdrawals. I've been withdrawing from PayPal for over a year now. Every month at more or less the same time and more or less the same amount. No single month can I expect my funds to be available at a reasonable hour. The exchange rate also never matches FNB's own published rates. If my employer moves from PayPal to Wise, I am closing my FNB account and moving back to Capitec.

28 May 2024, 19:04Haha, I posted my Complaint at 17:59, received an SMS at 18:04 and email shortly thereafter that mine is a 'high priority complaint'. The scripted, generic response promises that I will be contacted within 24-48 BUSINESS HOURS. Mind you, 8 business hours = 1 day. Meaning, I can expect FNB to try to call me within 3 days. That's their time frame on 'priority' queries, people!

I am officially moving to another foreign currency exchange system and changing banks as soon as I do.

The exchange rate we quote is based on the standard FNB retail exchange rate with an additional margin for afterhours trading. So when performing a top up we quote the buy rate and when doing a withdraw we quote the selling rate. After hours trading is between 16h00 to 08h00, weekends and public holidays. For withdraw transactions we quote a four day rate. It should be noted that all rates quoted are guaranteed irrespective of how long the top up or withdraw takes. The quoted exchange rates for this product cannot be negotiated and any other negotiated rate with FNB will not apply. To enquire more about rate, please contact the FOREX department
