PAYPAL AND FNB

I run a charity. A friend in America said: "I will try to raise funds for you but we need a secure place for the money to go". Eventually decided that Paypal was secure, international and trust worthy. I opened a Paypal account.... some money came in, but not much so I left it there... then a bigger amount came in. At that stage our charity was desperate. We were on the verge of closing our doors. I attempted to draw the Paypal money. FNB is the only bank in SA that facilitates Paypal. I am not an FNB client, but, 'no problem' says the FNB person on the phone, 'log on, open a NON FNB CLIENT PAYPAL PROFILE, link it to Paypal and away you go'. That was 3 months ago. I wish I had written down each person I have spoken to, but alas I did not. I am prepared to swear that it is at the very least 800 people.... the same ones sometimes...over and over. Being passed from one person to the next and sometimes back to the first three..... My phone bill is astronomical. I have been to 6 different branches, have been shoved from pillar to post, have been made to go away with a hundred promises of issues being resolved within 12 to 24 hours and 'we will call you as soon as this is resolved'... not once, not once, has the phone call come. I have run around with documents from my bank... down to petty stuff like the full name of my NPO did not appear on the bank statemen.... back to my bank to as them to give me a document that says that the account is indeed my account but the full name does not fit into the allocated space, but herewith verified.... the certified copies of the director's ID's MUST be in colour. Helo, it is legally certified copy of a legal document. I have given FNB a power of attorney signed by all the directors to work on our behalf to sort this out... ONE person was amazing and tried and tried to help me. Her name is Melissa and she is at the FNB branch opposite Northcliff Corner.

I have never in my life encountered anthing like this. There seems to be solution to this problem at all and nobody in FNB seems to know what to do or how to do it. I have personally now been FIKA'd over and over as has our NPO... all to no avail. I have tried to reach the CEO of FNB, Mr Jacques Celliers, but nobody will give me his phone number or email... I just keep going back to the main "voice and bad music and push this button then that one... and get nowhere.... except to go on the merry go round of talking to another hundred people.

My charity cannot afford to lose $400 US.

Please can somebody help.

My number is **********

Thank you

Nina Venjakob

Thank you FNB for responding, reacting and solving. It is sad that one has to go to extremes to get done what should have been done in the first place. In the end it was easy. I highly recommend Melisa at the Nortchliff brach as well as Pinky Dhlahla and Bafana Mabasa. The three of them are my heroes. I highly recommend training for the staff at FNB in the PayPal process and requirements. It would save you so much trouble and future PayPal clients the trauma and time wastage I had to endure.
