Payment Reversal
On the 30th November I made a transfer from my FNB account to my husband's Absa Account and made mistake with 2 last digits of the card numbers. I spoke to FNB via secure chat on the 31 and was told that these nothing they can do. I then called Absa and was given an email address to send a detailed mail explaining what had happened. They then responded that they can't assist as am not their client. My husband then called as he banks with Absa and was told that the account that money was paid into mistake is indeed an active account and that they can call and ask for the funds to be paid back into my account that FNB should send communication to them on my behalf. I went to the branch on Tuesday and was given a Payment Reversal form to fill and send it to fnbdigitalrecalls, which I did. They responded to say they can't assist me. I asked if there was any communication sent to Absa to call their client for consent for the funds to be reversed back and I have not received any feedback. I have logged a complaint but no one called or responded to my email.
My question is that if Absa can go an extra mile for their client and even give me alternative ways to sort this matter why can't FNB my BANK do the same and ontop of that I will be charged R325 for payment reversal fees which I feel no attempt was even done to help me.
