Payment not Authorized, frustrations with "Secure Chat"

On the 1st of June I wasted 51 frustrating minutes on their "Secure Chat", trying to resolve mistakes FNB had made with my Credit Card. Much of this time was waiting to get connected to a "Banker" and even more of it waiting for his slow responses to my queries Eventually in exasperation I asked the "Banker" to please do his research, figure it out, resolve the issue and then get someone to phone me back with a solution. I have heard nothing since....

The 2 issues I was having were: 1. A regular monthly payment of R49 to Afrihost, from my Credit Card was declined by FNB. As there was R1000's of Credit available on the Card, I wanted an explanation as to why the payment was not Authorized and if FNB was going to take responsibility for the penalties that Afrihost has charged me due to the failed payment. Still waiting for some response on this issue....

2. I always pay the full amount due on my Credit Card, by Debit Order. The full amount went off my Premier account, but was not app**** to the Credit Card. I then got a message from FNB, telling me to pay up the minimum amount or risk going into arrears. The Banker was able to respond that this was an FNB error, which would be rectified and fortunately has since been sorted.

So FNB did look into this and contacted me by email.

My transaction with Afrihost decline due to my Credit Card account being blocked due to no payment received.
However, this so called "no payment" and the blocking was entirely due to an FNB " system error", where they processed the payment a day late.
The whole point of having a Debit Order is to avoid late payments.

While the email did "apologise for all the inconvenience this has caused", there was no offer to settle the penalties that Afrihost has charged me due to FNB's system error, nor any assurance that this kind of error would not happen again.

As a Client, I really appreciate direct contact, like a phone call, when a Service Provider messes up.
And I would really like an easy way to get to actually speak to someone when there is an issue, rather than impersonal emails and chat apps.
