Payment Holiday
I was so relieved when I saw that, just like the other banks, FNB was going to help the clients that are struggling due to the lockdown. This however is not the case. It looks more like FNB wants to make money out of this, I'm pretty sure that when the President said the banks would assist their customers, he did not mean by only allowing them to take a loan and then charge interest.
Looking at the reviews on HelloPeter it seems like I'm not the only one struggling with FNB. I do not, however see as many complaints when looking at the rest of the banks. Very sad, and worried at the moment!?

14 Apr 2020, 12:11Okay, I should probably thank FNB for contacting me now. However I was just informed that because of the COVID-19 pandemic they no longer provide the payment holiday option but they do give out 3 & 5-year loans on which they then charge interest.
As per the employee that phoned me, they know the other banks do give a payment holiday and FNB used to but the loan is now the only arrangement that can be made.
Soo, nice to know I am banking with the bank who would rather put a client who is already in a difficult situation under more pressure for 3-5 years with an extra loan repayment.
