Pathetic service recovery

I recently opened an FNB cheque account as I wanted to try out their service. Opening an account was met with some challenges as I had to visit two branches before it could be done. Their sales pitch was brilliant and the account was open. A few weeks later, a cash deposit was made into my account in my presence. A month thereafter I noticed a transaction that was pending on the account. I immediately phoned the customer services number to understand the reason. I was told this was a cash deposit fee, I was then put through to the complaints department to lodge a complaint. This was during the first week of April. Now a few weeks after the complaint, there is still no resolution after I was ensured that the matter will be escalated. I now have their credit department calling me to settle the account. I mentioned that there is an unresolved query against the account, but they could not view it. FNB is excellent at the sales pitch, however they are pathetic at the service recovery. Since FNB does not care much about my issue, I will settle and close the account, never to deal with them ever again.
