PATHETIC SERVICE
I used to be one of the biggest advocates for FNB - but no more! We had an appointment booked for the collection of biometrics, required by Home Affairs for passport issuance, at the FNB Greenpoint branch on the 31st of December 2024 at 9:00. We got there and there was a paper sign stuck to the door indicating that all Home Affairs related appointments were simply moved to a HOME AFFAIRS branch in the city centre - one of the busiest branches around!!! We then had to make our way to Home Affairs - with no clue what the process was we had to follow.. If I wanted to go to Home Affairs, I would have done so from the start FNB. And then I would have made sure to be there early. So there was absolutely NO BENEFIT in being able to select the FNB branch as the preferred location to have our biometrics taken. This, when there are already so few FNB branches in the Western Cape that "offer" this service when compared to the number of ABSA and Standard Bank branches that offer this same service.. When I complained on their complaints line, I was given some lame story about this being a Home Affairs service they offer and that the staff report to Home Affairs - so it's outside their control. **** - FNB had my cellphone number and email address as I have been banking with them for years. They could have sent a single SMS or email to notify us of the change - but NO. PATHETIC SERVICE.
