Pathetic service

On 12 July 2019, which happened to be my birthday, I tried to pay for some goods at the local vet store using my credit card. To my surprise the transaction was declined. We tried again and the transaction was again declined. My husband went to the ATM to withdraw cash from the card. This too was declined. I then received an SMS from FNB advising that the transaction had been declined due to outstanding documents. Documents which I had not been requested to send. I called the customer care line and spoke to a consultant Goitsemang. She wasn't very clued up on what was happening. She advised she will call me back. She called back a few minutes later, however I could not hear her and she did not bother calling back. She then sent an email saying that she had tried calling but was unsuccessful.

I responded stating my utter disgust in the service in the way they deal with their clients. To date I have not had a response.

I received a separate email asking to rate the service I received. To date I have not had a response.

My account is now blocked until I forward these requested documents (ID and proof of address).

I just need to add that this account is less than a year old, so why these documents are again required is beyond me.

A few weeks ago I opened a cheque account telephonically. I requested that my debit orders be switched. I received a response that my creditors had all declined the request. Something I find very strange as I know of people who have the same creditors and their debit orders were successfully switched.

Two or three weeks after opening the account I had still not received a card.

I then requested for the account to be closed as the whole process was way too inconvenient for me.

No one bothered calling me regarding the issue.

All in all my recent dealing with FNB has been rather unsatisfying.
