Pathetic

I had a loan with FNB. In May 2022 I asked for a settlement value and I got a formal letter with a settlement value valid for 30 days. I paid the settlement value within a week. Now suddenly months later I get a letter from an attorney informing me that there is still a balance due. How do you guys operate? When I paid the settlement value in May I mailed and asked for confirmation that the account is settled and closed. Never hears a ****** word and now suddenly this dear Johnny letter - do you think we are stupid? I want this to be resolved and I refuse to pay one cent more - your incompetence is not my problem!
