Overdraft that I never even used the money

I went to FNB in Carlswald in February and asked them to closed my Private wealth account, they told me that they can’t close it until I pay off my negative balance. The reason why I asked them to close it is because I was no longer using it due to job loss and No income and their monthly fees were too high.

To my surprise I did not have access to the accounts anymore but they kept on charging me monthly fees. Why would you charge me monthly fee were as I do not have access to the account anymore.

I text them on the app this morning. They told me that I have an over draft of R15800 and this amount is totally from their monthly charges. The lady who assisted E on the app called me and put me through to collection department and also provided me with their direct number. *** The collection department never answered the call until I hanged up on my side because I have to work. I called them back and they kept on putting me through to different departments. Until Rachel said she will ask the supervisor to call me.

They also said as long as I still have a negative amount on my account they will keep on charging me monthly fees. meaning as long as I am not working I will be getting more negative amount on my fnb account and owe them even more on the account that I can’t even access
