Outward Remittance (SWIFT PAYMENT TO A MALAYSIAN BANK)

This has started about 3 to 4 weeks ago when our company which am part owner in (AGGREMCO PTY LTD) wanted to SWIFT transfer a payment of USD2500 to one of the banks in Malaysia as per the Malaysian Bank's instruction which our company have been trying to establish a purely business relationship with (CREDIT FACILITY) because we were never even listened to by most of our financial institutions here in SOUTH AFRICA including the big 4 banks. Because this was a cross board relationship, in the spirit of good governance and compliance we did a thorough due diligence on the bank so far as involving the Malaysian Embassy to help verify this foreign bank to us, which they did with no problems. Upon having to do an outward payment to the bank through SWIFT, we called on our nearest FNB branch and the foreign exchange department for further help and guidance, which at first both did, except until the FNB foreign department sat with information regarding a return of our payment to the foreign bank without notifying us and only notifying us after we made several calls on that day to no avail of everyone who helped us initially. When we finally got hold of the Forex exchange department people, only then we were informed that the receiving bank did not accept the payment due to incorrect beneficiary information (question is, why were we not informed without having to call first???} We were then advise to be in contact with foreign bank to get correct information which we did, we were requested by FNB to put the correct information down on our company letterhead and send to forex department to send the funds and we did. We again waited and waited to no response, and as disciplined individuals who are business minded and eager to get our business going with the Malaysian Bank, we picked up our phone, spending our time yet again in trying to follow up on the second transaction and only to our surprise and shock our call was diverted to a so called "REGULATORY SERVICE, FOREIGN EXCHANGE DEPARTMENT" who to our shock presented a NEW STORY to us that the transaction can not be done because they do not have a section in their department that permit such transactions. Mind you, this a transaction that was initially sent without any hustle but unluckily was returned by the foreign bank as explained above. Now as a client, this level of inconsistency and mediocre service rendering became a serious problem given the fact that we went back and forth with the first transaction to now that the transaction cannot be done altogether because of some section the department does not. And through all of these, we were further subjected to submit hosts of forms and some paper work from our side, which were never mentioned before. FNB is a highly respectable bank and rated tops because of its efficient ways of dealing with client and it is personally shocking to receive such mediocre and inefficient service where cross policies do not speak to each other across same departments. We urge FNB to act on our URGENT request as requested and stop playing with young black entrepreneurs who are committed business people and want to create jobs and succeed in the end. FNB bank, I further say that you could not even lend us an ear when we needed credit facility of this magnitude, therefore allow those banks who are willing to help do so without you sabotaging us in a process. We always preach foreign investment as a country, civil society, business etc, however this behavior and attitude by one of the most trusted banks confirms a lot on something I always argue with that banks need to be nationalized, I always do not concur with that despite the fact that I am getting little to no help from these banks. This is our plead to you and since this process has been going way too long, we expect nothing less of your cooperation.
