Our confidential information may not always be safe with FNB.
I am an FNB private client, my banker discussed changing to a fusion account with me, I agreed, she said I would need to sign some forms to change the account etc. To my horror when I checked the documentation she sent me it had another clients details on it, everything from his ID no. to his income tax no. was sent to me in error. I tried calling her to rectify this almost 5 times to no avail. I feel this is extremely careless behavior on FNB's part, how sure can I be that my information was not sent to someone accidently in the past? if this is the culture how FNB handles extremely confidential information? what happens if two months down the line this person is a victim of identity theft coincidently? I will be the prime suspect in that investigation, it could mean court time, court cases,I could lose my job,how do i protect myself. I can even be accused of being in some kind of sydicate with my banker. In South Africa ***** is so common. How can FNB put me in such a compromising position. I honestly feel so afflicted I cant even think properly. I received a call from a guy named Deon, he apologized saying they are working under pressure but he will send me an email to stating it was done in error should anything happen going forward. This is unacceptable and I am not happy with the outcome at all. Also dont feel that our personal information as clients is not safe with fnb at all. I wish i could just close my account. Been a loyal client for almost 9 years never given an issue, this is the Thanks I get.
To date nobody has contacted me regarding this complaint. I feel like posting this on social media because it seems like Fnb just does not care.
