Opening Hours

Hi there,
I thought I would provide some of my thoughts after visiting my local branch in Cape Town this morning. In my mind, FNB as a company has set a precedent as being a high-quality, service driven bank, and has been achieving this thus far.

I'm guessing that most people probably work from 8-5 during the week, so wouldn't go to a branch then. As far I am concerned, the branches are offering a service, and with a service line, the aim should be to accommodate the clients. Shops nowadays are even open for more hours than a branch is. If I look at my other paid services, they mostly offer 24/7 support (where applicable), so why would a bank be any different? Even Capitec has better opening hours.

So, quite seriously (and I would like to hear a reasonable response for this), what is the reason that the branches don't have opening hours that accommodate their clients? And furthermore, why is there not more focus on this internally, as there is major focus on FNB's product offerings and other services? It would boost FNB's client satisfaction, client intake, and would put them miles ahead of any other bank in SA.

Kind regards,
Duncan
