Opening a FNB account. Worst mistake ever!

2 Months ago I decided to move my banking to FNB. Worst mistake ever.

Not only did it take me 4hours at the FNB Somerset Mall Branch to open an account. (I wasn’t able to open a FNB Cheque account online) but I was also miss informed or not informed of all of the banking functions/features as I should have been. Clearly understaffed, leading to poor customer service and missed information. After a second visit to the branch, another 2hours well spent. I was informed about how to validate my Phone App. A purchase of R50 airtime apparently does not do the trick as advised when opening my account, but a purchase amount more than R300 does. On my second visit I was informed that my debit orders were not in place as requested on the forms that I filled in and mailed through. I did get confirmation on receipt of my mail. About an hour after I was at the branch with my complaint, I received a phone call, this after multiple requests for assistance. A little too late as I had to phone my providers myself to move my debit orders. Please do not advertise a service if you don't actually provide it. On the Desktop Online Banking, FNB has an option "Queries and Suggestions" I presume these messages get ignored as I have never received any feedback on my query related to transaction viewing. Please do not advertise a service if you don't actually provide it. My ebucks was never activated as we discussed when opening the account. I can't log in into my online account on my desktop due to the fact that after 2 months using your FNB Online Banking, I now all of a sudden have to register for inContact (whatever this may be) please note that I am able to access my Phone App... !? I am struggling to add a new Public recipient on my Phone APP and only receiving error messages. The details are exactly the same as I used with Investec and ABSA with NO problems at all. I then continue to phone the FNB call center...... 20 minutes and yet again I get transferred to the WRONG department after speaking to 2 people explaining my situation. I also really do not find your Phone App to be user-friendly.

I will be closing my Personal account today. It's a shame that closing my Business account will be too much of a hassle otherwise I would have closed the account as well.
