Online Hacking of Cards
On the 2/02/2015 I discovered that my private bank card was hacked when it declined for petrol payment. I reported the matter to my private banker and she indicated that there were 4 transactions on Easy Way which has taken place at 22h00 on the 1/02/2016. After completing a report, it was escalated to ***** department for them to investigate. On their investigation they told me that on the 29/01/2016 the Gmail account was created and my card was link to it. I found very disturbing to learn that any person can change your details on line and you don't get a OTP sms. On the closing and final report 3 days ago is that they are not going to reimburse me the R4000 that I lost because it was responsibility to make sure that the FNB link that I use is authentic. I felt disgusted and disappointed that how I was going to know that the email was not from them because I received it on my work email not Gmail. I've been ****** the last R4000 and I'm still worried whether my account is still safe in this bank as they are going to deliver a new card. I think the better option is better to leave FNB after being with them for 20 years because they don't care about their customers.
