Not a single helpful point of contact

On Friday, 14 July, I opened an account with FNB online. I opened the account in just a few minutes and then proceeded to upload my documents (ID, proof of address etc.). I receive an SMS from FNB that the account is now open. Next, I went on to the "switching debit orders form". I entered all my debit order details, but it wouldn't accept my number values. So I call the call centre. I explain to them that I cannot move on to the next step, because it shows that my number values (although in the correct format) are incorrect. So the lady tells me that the account is not active. So she puts me through to account activations. There, I have to explain to them again what I am trying to do, then they put me through to internet banking. Then the lady says I am going to have to fill out a form to switch my debit orders. OK, about 20 minutes wasted typing them meticulously inot the online platform. She says she will send me the forms. I wait and wait and wait. No forms. I call again. This time I speak to a guy (4th call centre person I am dealing with) who says he will send me the account activation (confirmation - which I need to move my salary) as well as the debit order switching forms within the hour. This was on Friday. I am still waiting for the account confirmation. He only sent the debit order forms. So I fill them in - TEDIOUS PROCESS. Before I scan them and send back to FNB, I wait for my account confirmation, because I need to move my salary before swtiching my debit orders. I wait the weekend and by Monday I have still received nothing. I decide it's not worth the admin. I send FNB a mail asking them to cancel eveything and just close tha account. Nothing. I get a call from the courier company saying they want to deliver my card. I say no, leave the card, I am closing the account. Then FNB calls me late Monday saying I dind't complete my credit card application. I said I don't want a credit card, and quite frankly, why would I take out a credit card I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE ACCOUNT CONFIRMATION. The lady then says I should have received an SMS. I say I did receive and SMS, but I need to sumbit an actual DOCUMENT to my employer, not an SMS. She says that she will put me through to someone and I say NO, because I've spoken to 4 people who just didn't help me AT ALL. So she says I must go into a branch. How about no. This afternoon I get an SMS telling me how to buy data....Then I send ANOTHER mail to customer care saying that they must please close the account and remove me from marketing. I forward the same thread to RB Jacobs, who replies to me COMPLETELY misspelling my name. What a completely UNHELPFUL, IRRITATING experience! Oh, and may I add - this is the second tiome I tried to switch to FNB, I should have known the first time around! CLOSE THE DAMN ACCOUNT!
