Non-existent service

Good morning FNB,

I recently submitted compliant (ref. ********** ) via your website and all I received in return was email from ********** with a dispute form; there are absolutely no words or explanation provided in the email.

First of all, are there still any humans working for FNB or everything is fully automated? Second, I have been experiencing exact same issues for a while now with similar transactions related to other companies (Uber, Thrifty, etc.) and it is unbelievable that FNB which prides in being both best physical and digital bank in South Africa does not have process in place to complete simple release of authorisation hold related transactions but will instead opt to hold my funds indefinitely. Do you really expect me (I assume other customers as well) to fill in the dispute form and wait for a month, each and every time, rental company or similar, places authorisation hold on my account and instruct you to release funds? Am I never supposed to rent a car or use Uber and pay for deposit/ride with my FNB card? Do you have any idea how other banks in South Africa do these kind of things? If not, I suggest that someone from FNB urgently makes a turn and check what your competition does as you seem to seriously lag behind.

Please let me know how do you plan to fix this for me asap, otherwise, I will cancel/move all my existing loans with FNB as well as the all accounts and move my business somewhere where these kind of things don’t happen and you can actually speak to a real person/consultant.

Regards.

Reviewer Update

My money (car rental deposit - placed on authorisation hold) was released almost the same day when I posted this review. Also, I received email reply and a follow up call from FNB consultant, however, I am not convinced that I am not going to experience the exact same problem next time when I try to rent a vehicle.

FNB, you really need to do something about this; I don't know about your other customers but this problem with automatic reversal of reserved funds (authorisation hold) is really not acceptable.
