No ownership taken for a simple task!

On the 4th October, I opened an Islamic Youth Account for my 6 year old daughter via the Islamic Banking Call Centre. This was a very simple process, with the account opened in a few minutes! I was very impressed! This account was immediately linked to my Online Banking profile as one cannot expect a 6 year old to manage their own Online Banking.

I received the card for this new account on Tuesday, 10th October at 09h30, having handed over the FICA docs requested by CCD Couriers. That evening, I visited my local FNB ATM in order to activate the card as this card was not visible on my Online Banking profile. However, at the ATM, I received the notification/receipt slip that the card is not activated, hence I cannot be assisted.

On Wednesday, 11th October at 08h04, I called General/Telephone Banking ( ********** 404) to activate this card, but was advised that since the account is an Islamic Banking product, I would need to speak to the Islamic Banking team. Immediately, I was transferred to Islamic Banking, and after having stated my requirement re activation of the card, I was advised that an escalation has been logged, and I will be contacted once feedback is received. At 14h33, I heard back from Islamic Banking, who advised me that they cannot activate cards, hence I would need to call General/Telephone Banking again, as General/Telephone Banking can activate cards.

I immediately called General/Telephone Banking again, and was then advised that I need to call Private Clients to activate this card. I was transferred to Private Clients, and after having stated my requirement, I was advised that I would need to call Private Wealth to activate this card. I was transferred to Private Wealth, and after stating my requirement, was advised that the card cannot be activated due to FICA docs having not been received. In order to resolve this, I would need to speak to the FNB KYC department, which I was then transferred to.

Having stated my requirement again, I was advised that the KYC Dept was waiting upon CCD to provide them with the documents I provided, hence cannot activate the card at that time. This is normally a 24 - 48 hours process for the documents to be received.

All in all, the card is not reflecting on my Online Banking profile at this time (48 hours from receiving the card), nor do I believe has been activated.

What more do I need to do in order to resolve this? I think I've spoken to call centre agents, and verified myself, more than is reasonably required for a simply task! Help...
