NO BENEFITS TO FNB CLIENTS
So I have been an FNB client for a while. Always had a clean record and pay my loans on time. I don’t believe in having bad debt against my name.
About 4 months I got ****med out of R50 000, asked fnb for assistance but FNB was just like it’s your problem. I requested 3 times on the fnb app secure chat for the revolving loans department to contact me to extend my revolving loan amount to settle the credit card in order to pay one thing back and not have to do huge payment to two things. As fnb made it clear that I will be held responsible for the **** I got caught in and I will be responsible for the payments. As I asked assistance to hear what kind of insurance there is to assist me. Up till today no one contacted me from the revolving department. So clearly FNB has no remorse for there clients and wanting to assist them to make payments lighter or guidance to assist there clients. And during the time I was ****med I also found out that FNB has 800 similar **** cases.
On Tuesday I went to fnb to get a loan at a higher interest rate as what the revolving loans interest rate would have been which would be more beneficial for me in the long run and my pocket. But obviously not beneficial for fnb.
I used the money to settle the credit card and revolving loan with no extra benefit or less settlement amount. So again FNB is the only one winning and client no benefits.
I took out a loan to settle my credit card and revolving loan with fnb amounts outstanding was credit card R36 860 and Revolving loan R34125. So I asked for settlement amounts on both the credit card and revolving loans. In my mind when one wants to do a settlement on accounts or debt you would think it’s less then what you owe, wrong with FNB you pay more then owed. Even if it’s not a lot more one would think you would get at least a few hundreds of for settling the debt. But guess there is no benefit for doing this with FNB.
Credit card amount owed: R36 860-00 settlement amount R37 257-80 Revolving Loan amount owed: R34 125-00 settlement amount R35 000-00.
If I receive a decent settlement from FNB I would have paid the rest of the amount back to the loans to try and make my loan amount less to pay back and in order for me to get it paid back as soon as possible. But guess small fish in a big pond with FNB we just a number and clients will just pay them they make money and we just have to keep paying back on high interest rates.
As soon as I get the loan paid off, I will be closing all my accounts with FNB, which is my daughter of 3’s account, my husbands business account, husband personal account as well as mine.
And anyone reading this, please consider a different bank then fnb as you don’t get much benefits from them especially if you are in debit with them. Not even when one wants to do settlements. I moved from ABSA thought that FNB would a better bank then ABSA with more benefits. But guess the the grass isn’t greener on the other side. At least with ABSA I got decent settlement amounts which was way more beneficial for me as the client.
