Never Trust FNB. Sold false policy and mad as hell!

Upon opening a personal loan and a credit card with FNB, I was forced to accept their insurance policy which they alleged would cover me/the loan amount, in the event that my financial circumstances changed and I could not afford to maintain the payments. I explained to FNB that I had my own life cover policy which I offered to cede to FNB, but they refused to accept it, stating that it didn't cover me for loss of income and that they would only be assisted/reimbursed in the event of my death, or disability. Knowing that I was self employed (documents submitted to FNB and having disclosed everything to FNB whom I have been banking with for years) they still forced their policy on me, allowing me to pay for it all this time, KNOWING that it would actually NEVER ever serve/cover me! This is an ******* practice which violates the CPA. When I found myself in a position whereby I could not afford the payments, due to a change in my circumstances, calling on the FNB policy to assist me, FNB told me that it only covers me in the event of death, disability, or retrenchment. So WHY did they enforce it on me, instead.of accepting my own policy, which would do just that! My life cover would have settled them in the event of death or disability, but as a self employed person, the retrenchment cover would never ever apply to me, nor assist me accordingly! Not unless they accepted any sort of loss of income incurred by a self employed individual as retrenchment. I am infuriated that they enforced such a policy on me, knowing that it was not applicable to me, making me pay for it in vain. Surely this is a breach of the Consumer Protection Act, which calls for absolute disclosure and no hidden terms and conditions! I would now like to institute a claim against FNB accordingly, as I view their practice as ********. Clients should never be beguiled in this manner. I called yet again now and spoke to K****tso (male) who pretended not to hear me and hung up.... seems to be a game they play when they don't feel like working... just pretend not to hear the client and hang up when you feel like it. FNB has hereby exploited me! Also, I can't get anyone efficient enough in their credit card division to assist me with similar issues. They call me daily and hang up the call as soon as I.answer it! How sinister, or sly are those actions! Worse mistake ever is opening a personal loan with institutions like these and falling prey to their lies.

Following my review, Alicia Arends and Dimpho both contacted me, electing to investigate and resolve the matter, yet to date, absolutely nothing has been done about it. In fact, the matter has been pushed under the rug, expecting that I simply accept same. Initially, Dimpho offered me a refund of the insurance premiums I have paid thus far, as apposed to actually honoring the policy they sold to me, instead of accepting my own, which they stated did not contain the cover which theirs did. Instead, FNB continues to debit my account, for a policy they will not honour and of which they state, is of no benefit to me at all, albeit having enforced it onto me. On top of failing to honor the claim by covering my monthly installments during my loss of income, they have further debited my account for both the insurance premiums, as well as the loan installment, thereby causing my bond to bounce, since the monies in my account were allocated for my bond. At this stage, my calls and my emails go unresponded to while FNB continues to commit a breach of The Consumer Protection Act. They indicate ************ business practices and a lack of empathy and/or respect for their clients in treating me as they do. Best to do a bond switch and remove all business/accounts from FNB to another bank.

And yet again, FNB fails to give a damn about their customer queries. Evidently one is just a number at FNB and as such, we don't matter, nor does our business, actually! Melissa Wilhase sent me an email which has absolutely nothing to do with my claim and following 3 responses to her email, advising her accordingly and thereby requesting that she contacts me, all those emails have gone unresponded to. I have never heard back from Dimpho either. FNB proves to be the most pathetic service provider,.especially in terms of insurance!
