I always knew that in Government, ******** occurs on a regular basis, I never thought this is true in the banking sector as well. So, this came to my attention a couple of days ago. A few weeks back my cousin went in for an interview at First National Bank in Hopetown in the Northern Cape. Unfortunately, she did not get the job, not that I'm mad or anything, however I was informed that the person who did receive the job is the niece of the manager and was also the person who interviewed them both, I tried calling their head office to query if you can be interviewed by a relative as I know it can’t be the case, but they kept transferring me to this person and then that person. Where do we set the standards? Don’t we all deserve an equal shot especially in a country where the unemployment rate is so high, when has the private sector become so biased, aren’t we all just trying to survive day by day, if all of us fell back on ********, the poor will stay poor and only a few would be able to provide to their families. But I guess its who you know at the end of the day. Just let that sink in for a while.
