Neglected /Unhappy Customer

Is there anyone from FNB who is willing to respond to my email, FNB just seems to not care of their customers. I have entrusted you with my last salary as am currently unemployed and the money ****** was all I had amidst the harsh economical circumstances.

Dear FNB Customer Service,

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the recent handling of my account and the security of my funds. On the 8th October 2024, I discovered that my bank card was missing or potentially ****** during a purchase I made earlier that day around 16:00. Subsequently, unauthorized withdrawals were made from my account at 23:52 and again at 00:00 midnight, totalling R6000 within just 2 minutes. That on its own is very suspicious but my bank does not see it as strange , this says to me that you do not monitor the usage patterns of your costumers to be able to detect any unusual activity on the bank account. This was supposed to have been picked up and I was supposed to have been alerted immediately after the 1st transaction, especially because I do not really use my card that much.

It is highly unusual for such withdrawals to occur at these hours without any form of alert, which raises serious questions about the security measures in place to protect customers account. Upon reporting the matter to your ***** department on the same day, I was informed that my case will be investigated and feedback given but a blanket approach was used my case was not personalised nor taken seriously from the onset.

This response is unacceptable, especially given the circumstances under which my card was compromised. Card skimming and PIN theft are well-known and common *****ulent activities, and I firmly believe this is what occurred in my case. Banks are aware that such incidents are not isolated, yet the blame is being unfairly placed on me, a customer who has fallen victim to ***** and theft.

I urge you to thoroughly investigate the ATM from which the money was withdrawn and review the surveillance footage to identify the individual responsible. If it is someone I know, I am prepared to take further legal action against them. However, to simply deny my claim without a proper investigation is both unfair and dismissive of the trust I have placed in your institution. As a loyal customer, I trusted FNB with the safekeeping of my hard-earned money. The current situation has left me feeling unacknowledged and unvalued as a client. I request that you reconsider your decision and take immediate action to resolve this issue, including refunding the ****** amount and enhancing the security measures on my account to prevent future occurrences.

I look forward to your prompt and favourable response.

Sincerely,

Fumani Chauke

Reviewer Update
The message below is what I received from FNB on the 13th of November for them to look good and as if they care and respond to their customers, Let me tell you I have been waiting and nothing is forthcoming, Today is the 23rd of November and my incident happened on the 8th October and no one cares its like my money was just placed under my mattress and was ****** and no one is responsible nor accountable, honestly feel that FNB doesn’t care for it’s customers. Can I please get my last salary back so I can at least live while looking for employment can someone in your department put themselves in my shoes because I know this is not an isolated incident you have seen and experience this but you get away with it because of who the account belongs to. Please do the correct thing and just finalize the case. I cannot wait any longer I need to pay for rent it will 2 moths outstanding end of November.
