My number is held hostage by FNB
I am a loyal private client of FNB and I have tried to keep all my accounts with FNB. I had a connect contract(cell phone + data) and have settled my account long time ago before my contract end last month 25th. The FNB is terrible in most areas I spend time on including my home. a lot of drop calls , and most of the time no connection. But i was able to wait until my contract ends. On 24th i phone them informing them that i would like to port-out my number. The rude guy who was assisting me could not listen to what I was saying he just told me that I had to call the following day as my contract end on the 25th. fine , I did just that . When I called they told me that for me to port out I would need to convert the number to prepaid first and I asked them to do that of which after I was told that I will need to go to Vodacom who will then initiate the port prosses and I did that. I was told by Vodacom to wait for the sms with a pin from FNB confirming the port. I waited for 3 days and did not get the sms from FNB. I called FNB after 4 days , I was transferred thousands times. finally got some one who told me that on the system they have ported the time but he does not understand and he logged a call for an admin person to call me, he eve asked for my alternative number. i waited for a call till to day. on the 5 the Nov , I called again and a very rude person ( telling by the voice ) confirmed that my number has been ported and I was going to received confirmation /sms between 18.00 and 12pm midnight on Friday. Guess what , I am still waiting for that sms. This is the reference number I was given on Friday- RP***. I am currently stuck with a phone that does not have connection and there are a lot of drop calls. They have wasted my time and airtime. Do they know TCF? is this a bank I wanna trust with my finances? I am just a number to them ....while I am paying +400 every single month just for an account alone!!! Nedbank might be my next stop !!!!
