Multiple unauthorised deductions with no trace in my transaction history.
On the 3rd of June 2026 I noticed that R445 was missing from my account and upon going through by transaction history I found that 2 bolt deductions (R215 and R230 respectively) that were made on the 22nd of May 2026 where no longer appearing for that day but instead for the 1st of June 2026. I then called the *****s department and explained to the guy (I unfortunately forgot his name) that although these deductions only appear on the 1st they they were also deducted on the initial date of the 22nd of May. The then said that it is not ***** these are delayed payments and they are “perfectly legal” I told him I’m not deputing the initial R445 that was deducted on 22 May 2026 (which there is no longer any record of in my transaction history) but I am however disputing the new R445 deducted on 1 June 2026. He was still adamant that I am the one who is unable to manage my funds and there is no ***** and he transferred me to the account department. In that department I was spoke to a lady call Karabo who listen to me with patience, she then suggested that we manually calculate my transaction (since FNB does allow me to download my bank statement for May and June) when then both reached a balance that was not the same one reflected on my account any there was indeed R445 missing from my account. She then adviced me to not use my account until I get feedback as she has lodged a case. On the 4th I called again in the even since I had not received any feedback and a further R230 had gone missing again without any trace in my transaction history but unfortunately the accounts department had already knocked off and I was advised by Prudence to call the following day the 5th because 8:00 and 17:00. On the 5th I decided to go to the branch in Pretoria CBD and they were of no help but the did arrange for me to call the accounts department again and this time I was assisted by a lady called Nomalungelo since Karabo was on another call. I brought her up to speed with my above mentioned complaint and she did confirm that a case was lodged wit case no: Cas***-y8b6g0 and I should continue waiting for feedback, I told her to also add the additional R230 that was deducted because the case was lodged. This is extremely frustrating because I do not know which funds to use since I was adviced to not do anything on my account so that as the investigation is being conducted there is no movement in my account. FNB is treating my complaint with extreme lack of professionalism and I am now considering closing my account with them unless my complaint is attended to in a speedy manner.
They continue to insist that there was no ***** taking place and sent me a pdf version of my transaction history and the balance the documents claims I should have in my account is more than double the amount reflected in my account on my banking app.
Further more the balance reflected on the pdf document they sent me is also less than the true balance I had prior to them de*****ing me and I am saying they are the ones de*****ing because there is no trace of the missing amount being deducted from my account or a receipt of thereof. I am therefore left with no other choice than to believe that they are de*****ing me and manipulating my transactions history to insure that I have no proof of this.
