Money Returns

My wife travels for business a few times a year and on the odd (as she is in the travel industry) occasionally the hotels she stays in requires her to have an amount hold on the card for the room. This year is was an amount of R3200 +-. Now this is the norm and have done the process a few times. But year on year it is getting more difficult to get this money refunded. This year before my wife booked out the hotel she clarified with the hotel if the money has been released “the hotel was happy and all funds released". I begin the process for the returning of the funds on the 03-11-2016 the form was submitted to my private banker. While on the phone to him i get a million answers as to how this has to happen and has the hotel actually released the money “like i am lying ". At this point i am starting to get a little " to say the least'" agitated if he bothered to look at my account this scenario can easily be seen on the account that yearly this process is done. i then email him today (10-11-2016) as i have heard nothing in 7 days, only to be told that the debit department has this info and it can take up to 30 days to release "MY MONEY" this is not acceptable and i am currently deciding whether it is worth staying at this bank as what or who gives them the right to hold my money after you can plainly see in my account that the money is still lying in the balance but not available. This plainly indicates the hotel has not taken the funds. So why on earth does it take up to 30 days to release my money.
