Mistreatment of my funds and ********** transactions by the bank.
Good Day My name is N Sithole and I am extremely upset by the lack of professionalism and knowledge showed to me by FNB. Which seems to be continuing. This will result t in me taking my banking elsewhere and be esured I will not stay quiet about my experience. On the 19th of November 2020 I went into the FNB Branch at the Glen mall in the morning for assistance in obtaining the settlement amounts for my Credit card and Revolving Facility of (R40 000). The credit card settlement amount was obtained with ease and paid for right then and there in front of the consultant who was helping me. The Revolving Facility amount was an issue for her, she had to get up from her desk so the branch manager can assist and obtain the settlement amount for me, after she returned from the managers office she provided the amount and I paid it right then and there. She then attempted to close it and she could not, she then noted that there was a positive amount showing after paying the settlement amount and this may be the reason it will not close. She then instructed me to send transfer the positive balance of R481.70 into my cheque account. I did this in front of her and she then attempted to close the account and failed. She told me she will keep trying and escalate this to her manager to also try and close it. She never contacted me and the account was never closed. I kept calling FNB and sending emails to the complaints department but I was given the run around and no one helped me. I then noticed that bank charges were going off and other fees. I cannot afford any of this, I then called again and sent more emails and no one was helping. On the 1st December 2020 in the evening my bank notifications advised me that someone had gone into the Revolving facility, transferred funds from there into my cheque account which was then deducted. How is this possible!? How can anyone have access to the Revolving facility, this is **********. As far as I am aware, I am or should be the only person allowed or able to transact and move money around in my own account. Also, if this account was closed as I requested this would never have happened. I want to report this because it is *****. I do not feel same with my money at FNB anymore at all. On the 2nd December 2020 I then went to the East Rand Mall branch and was assisted by Tshepiso Ngwenya. She explained my story to her branch manager who advised she speak to someone in this particular department and that I must wait for feedback.. On the 3rd December 2020 she called me and basically told me that FNB is saying yes, they acknowledge that their consultant was at fault y instructing me to transfer the positive balance and by never contacting me again there after to make sure that the account was closed, but I must still pay or else they will not close it. What unbelievable nonsense and ********* behavior is that. I am the client her and I was given the incorrect information and instructed to do something wrong by an FNB consultant and I must pay. What is that. Also, before all of this FNB neglected to process a debit order on time. You did not even communicate with me to say there is an error or something. Almost a whole month passed by. I then received money into my account from my medical aid to go and pay a specialist as I have just welcomed a new born. FNB then De ided they will take that money as the debit order they had failed to deduct previously. When I went one of the branches I was told there is nothing I can do because the money was owed. But this was not my fault, FNB cancels and approves debit order as and when they please without communicating with me and then financially I'm left with fixing their issues. None of this is my fault, I did the right thing by going in and settling my accounts and paying them off in full. But now here we are with FNB basically telling me I must pay for their error. I do not have the money for this, I cannot afford to have this account stay open like this and even if I was able to, I should not have to. As a customer I was misled and advised incorrectly. FNB needs to sort this out without me having to pay anything. Please urgently advise. Kind Regards Nolly Sithole
It it now the 31st of December 2020, no one has bothered to communicate with me still, no one has said a word to me, instead, bank charges keep going of my account and this morning I woke up to find my bank account at a negative because they debited my account for close to R1000. What must I do now. These people have made my life hell, last week I had to go borrow money from friends just so I could go home to a funeral. Now I need to pay them back, how do I do that when the bank keeps taking my money and not owning up to their mistakes.
