Misrepresentation

One of the biggest financial services in SA has once misrepresented their product just for them to get sales. In June a call agent from FNB called me for their funeral cover for R247. And I was told that if I don't make payment in two it will automatically lapse. I did not payment but surprising five months later money comes through my account on a Saturday and FNB decides to take it. I went to the branch for a refund and I was told the policy only lapses after 4months and they than called the funeral cover department who told me policy lapses after 4months 30days. Not only was the cover misrepresented they also don't know when the policy lapses or they just giving me the run around cause they in business and want to make profits from. I will be definitely be referring this the ombudsman cause I don't want any person to go through this just for big companies to make money from us
