Misleading advertising, ************** against customers and treating customers unfairly by FNB
FNB is the most frustrating bank to deal with. They have misleading advertising, *********** staff who have NO idea how to communicate with customers or how to act as bankers rather than bank clerks, outdated processes and approach to dealing with modern day customers. Do NOT believe their misleading advertising when they tell you how easy it is to switch to FNB as it is a LIE! Their staff have NO clue how to deal with customers who choose NOT to draw a monthly salary but who have in excess of 25 years of banking records to prove stable income, mature and responsible handling of bank accounts and clear credit records. They can only work from an outdated "check-list" without applying their minds to each and every individual customer's needs. In addition, very limited, if any information is provided to customers about bank fees, how the various products work etc. For instance, I app**** for a credit card and an option is given as to the required documentation needed to approve the application. Yet, they will either send an email stating that the documentation is outdated or just not communicate with you at all - despite sending emails asking for feedback. Also, I opened a PayPal account only to find out that much later that I need a FNB account in order to link Paypal to an account where the money can be transferred to. These are only TWO such example - not sufficient space provide to quote all the examples of the frustrating interaction I have had in dealing with FNB. For my sanity, I closed my account after about 6 weeks and will NEVER EVER interact with them again and will NEVER advise anyone to bank at FNB. I am also reporting my experience to the ombudsman.
