Misinformed Credit Card instalment

This is has been the worst service I have ever received from any business! I phoned in April to ask FNB to change a percentage of my credit card from straight to budget. I was informed that my new credit card total monthly repayment was going to be R2900 and odd rand (which was confirmed to me on a recorded phone call and we would like sent to us).

I saw a couple of days later that it seemed as if my credit card was credited with the amount I asked FNB to move to budget. I called in and the guy I spoke to could not tell me where the money came from and told me it looks like someone deposited money into my card but they are unable to trace it. I emailed my private banker a couple weeks later to ask for assistance, and when the credit card department rep**** to my concern, they did not give me a straight answer as to what was going on my account.

I got an sms this morning stating my minimum payment on my credit facility is now R4400. I called in and spoke to Claudine if I remember correctly. She said she will phone me back in 15 to 20 minutes. Then I got a phone call from a Senior Banker named Andrew Joshua. Telling me that the initial repayment amount they gave me was not correct and they made a mistake, but unfortunately I will have to pay the new amount stipulated.

I incurred other financial commitments based on the INFORMATION GIVEN TO ME BY FNB! My husband called in to try and get assistance, and this is when Mr Andrew got rude and did not have answers to questions and tried to pass the blame to us. This was NOT what I agreed to and it is not my fault that your employees are not trained enough to be working with clients' credit facilities! Being a Private Client I expect MANAGEMENT to phone me tomorrow with a solution, not an excuse or apology, because that means nothing!

According to the National Credit Act, Chapter 6: Part A 124

(c) "The charge or series of charges may be made only for an amount that is -

(ii) specifically set out in the authorization

(e) any authorization not given in writing, must be recorded electromagnetically and subsequently reduced to writing.

This is ********* and if this is not sorted out asap we will take this further with the Banking Ombudsman as well as the National Credit Regulator.

We are not disputing the amount of credit and whether this will be paid, we are however disputing the monthly payment as your misinformation and faults have now led to an overcommitment financially for us and we are unable to cover debts.

We expect a plan to be made regarding the monthly payments, be that moving the facility to one over a longer period with lower monthly installments or whatever the solution. However our family not being able to cover debts due to this is not an option.
