Mindless KYC department

I have an Easy Account at FNB for the purpose of trading Bitcoin.

After a few weeks of trading, FNB put my account on a transactional hold, pending proof of income. This seemed fair, as I understand they would want to know where my deposits come from.

I promptly sent them email confirmations from Luno (the crypto-currency platform that I'm trading Bitcoin on) for every single payment ever made from Luno into my account. FNB didn't accept this, and said they need a customer statement from Luno instead.

The problem is, as confirmed with Luno, that Luno does not generate customer statements (only transaction history statements in Excel format. FNB didn't accept this either.

I then proceeded to provide them with a full audit trail for every transaction I have ever made with my FNB account in the form of email confirmations and transaction history statements from all parties.

It has been 3 weeks and FNB still has not reopened my account just because they don't have a customer statement from Luno. In total, I have spent upwards of 3 hours on the phone with them regarding this matter, to no avail.

Before this whole ordeal, I was seriously considering switching my entire banking portfolio to FNB, but the mindless way they have treated this matter has persuaded me otherwise.
