Math much...?

I cannot say that I am shocked as this is not the first time that FNB has treated me badly. Honestly, if I could close all my accounts today and move to ANY other bank - or stash cash under my mattress and do my banking from there - I would.

I have been under debt review at a debt review company for 2 and a half years with the promise that I will pay the same amount each month to settle my debt (and yes the court order was granted 2 years ago). So guess what I budgeted for...

What I did not budget for was the R250pm increase in February 2019 and the increase of R1700pm in July 2019 because you (FNB) could for some reason not do the math / calculations correctly.

I am a person with a budget and responsibilities not a cash *** or an ATM. There is a reason I am under debt review and a reason the court granted the set amount.

Now I receive a message from my debt review company stating that - all of a sudden - FNB is requesting an increase as my debt won't be covered in time and I need to send them my payslip again to prove to FNB that I cannot pay this...

Why go through the pain of debt review then in the first place? And then, who gets an increase of R1700pm all of a sudden? I work for a company for a set salary and single digit increases not for the government or any other 'generous' party.

FNB really knows how to make life hell for you. So much for 'how can we help you'... I'll probably get better service from the poisonous spiders under my mattress when or if I bank from there than I do from a bank with actual people and supposed calculators.

Please learn how to treat people with compassion, how to not be in breach of a court order, and try to understand what the economical condition of most of your middle class client base is in our current economical environment. You are a financial institution with an understanding of economics after all or does this fall into the same category as your repayment calculations?
