Malfunctioning ATM and Rude ATM Manager - FNB
I went to deposit money at an FNB ATM on Saturday the 2nd of June 2018 at the Newcastle Mall branch at 09:49 am. After putting the account number, I then put the money (R800) in the slot and the ATM just went "Out of Service" then the ATM released a slip saying "Your cash deposit was unsuccessful, we are unable to help you now. Thank you for using this FNB ATM". The slip also has what is listed as an ATM number which is ATM ********** 7. I then went into the branch to report this matter because my money didn't come back and the person whose account I was trying to deposit money into also checked their account and confirmed that they didn't receive the money. I reported this matter to a lady called Njabulo (Sales & Services Department) who helped me with an ATM claim form and advised that I come back on Monday because the ATMs will only be checked on Monday. What hurt the most is that I was told that this is not the first time this ATM has done this but there was no sign or warning on the ATM. Even though I was frustrated, I took her advice and went home. I went back to the branch this morning and this time I dealt with a lady called Carol Dlamini (ATM Manager) who was very rude, had a condescending tone and showed no empathy for my situation. She sent me away saying that they have my number and they will call me whenever they are finished checking. No specific time frame was given, no care and no support at all. She just wanted me out of the branch not knowing what to expect next.
