Loan repayment

I took a loan and paid up the outstanding amount by 23 November however, FNB deducted the monthly payment on the 24th. I understand that it may have been late to stop the deduction.

However, I called them to confirm that I paid up the loan and the amount deducted should be refunded to me. The guy I spoke to said I would get the refund within 5 days. I didn't receive the funds.

I now check my statement and noticed that not only did they not refund my money, they charged interest on 8 December. I really don't understand what's happening.
