Lack of Urgency for Vehicle Claim
On the 11th of March 2024, I experienced an unfortunate incident while driving on the N4 towards Pretoria. As I was overtaking a truck, the vehicle, which is insured by FNB insurance, was unexpectedly struck by a detached tire. The suddenness of the event left me with no time to react to the loose rubber. It is important to note that I am not the policy holder of this insurance.
The following day, on the 12th of March 2024, the policy holder and owner of the vehicle filed a claim for the incident. She was advised by an FNB agent to tell me contact FNB insurance at ***. Although I was unsure of the reason for this request, as I am not their client, I comp**** and made the phone call. Surprisingly, the agent I spoke to also seemed perplexed as to why the initial agent had instructed me to call them instead of them reaching out to me to gather information regarding the incident. It is worth mentioning that, even to this day, I have not received a call from FNB. Consequently, my friend's car remains stationary, and she has yet to receive a claim number.
On the 19th of March 2024, I made another attempt to contact FNB in the hopes of getting in touch with the person responsible for handling this incident. Unfortunately, my efforts proved futile as I still did not receive any assistance. As we approach the 25th of March, which marks 14 days since the accident, there seems to be no progress or resolution with FNB insurance.
