Lack of service : Unable to close bank account

My wife and i have been trying to close our accounts with FNB for the past couple of months now, and we have been sent from pillar to post. When we visited the one Branch they explained that we cannot close at customer care we need to go to a teller because its our only service with FNB.

Today my wife went to a branch with a teller only to be told that she cannot close her account because she is high risk due to the fact that she was on debt reveiw, this even though we have been off debt review for almost a year. So explain how does that work the bank wants to take bank fees from people that are classified high risk and keep accounts open that are not being used, just so they can ****** bank charges from them.

I am very unhappy with the lack of service from one of the big banking institutions on South Africa. Can someone please assist us as we are now at the point where i have lost all hope in FNB.
