Lack of security

I went to deposit money at around 16:30 yesterday afternoon at the ATM outside of FNB at the Trade Route mall for the first time alone. While standing at the ATM trying to figure out how to deposit the money some man dressed in a white shirt and blue jeans just said you doing the wrong thing but I think he was standing close to me for a while because I think they had ****med the machine since I found myself putting my pin number in atleast three times and I only realized he was there when he had spoken and eventually realized later on that it was only my card that he wanted as he already knew the pin but at that time I already realized let me just take my card and leave because I don't know what to do but he said you must press this that and the other but he didn't even know what I was even trying to do whether it was deposit money or withdraw so I told him can you please leave me alone I'm trying to get my card out but he refused to move away from me instead the more I told him to back off the more he was pressing the buttons and taking my card in and out of the machine pretending to be polite and helpful and me being new to this was very confused but I knew that no one was suppose to be so close to me at an ATM and when I turned to look for a security there was no one and I didn't want to just call anyone for help at that time instead he was trying to get my card out of the machine and next minute he did and than I did see him holding something in his hand so I scream hey! Where's my card than he said your card is inside but he was holding quite a few things in his hand he also looked like he was there to do his work so I thought ok maybe he was holding his card and when I tried to get mine out of the machine and saw that nothing was coming out I realized that it was my card that he had taken and in split seconds he was gone, everything was just happening so quickly I was in complete shock and literally not even 2 minutes after that I got an sms to say R1500 was withdrawn from account and I know that its highly impossible for anyone to get to the next ATM from where we were that fast so where was my money withdrawn from? and there was absolutely no security in sight to help me my argument is why is there no security at a bank in a mall? When the bank closes is the most crucial time for security to be on duty. Thankfully enough there was an Indian family there who I had asked for help after the incident because like I said there was no security which is absolutely pathetic and I was in such a state of shock an panic that I had no idea of what to do. But they atleast helped me to get hold of the bank to stop my card. But if this family wasn't there what would have happened than? And what happens to my money now?
